Welcome to the New Year

And we only had to wait till the 2nd of January for the first Welsh record, 2 Siberian Chiffchaffs, at Monk's Haven naturally, and well done Dave, Paul and Toby for getting us underway. We finished last year with a first for Britain, in the form of Masked Wagtail and maybe we can hope for a County first or two if not a National first this year. What will it be? Answers on a postcard.... but what about a Siberian Accentor, a spring bird returning north? That would be something. But dreaming of what might appear in the new year, whatever you hope to see, will get the blood racing and more enthusiasm for getting out there in the field to find it.
