LOCKDOWN BIRDS

Welcome to 2020. The first rarities have appeared in April. A couple of Eastern Subalpine Warblers on Ramsey  and at Martin's Haven were exciting, as they always are. The Martin's Haven bird, found during the restrictions in place, by Sash Tusa, is only the second mainland record for Pembs. A Red-rumped Swallow at Heathfielfd GP was another typical spring overshoot and good for an inland site. The lockdown due to Covid 19 has frustrated many, including me, but may have a good side. There is a strong focus on local birding and that may well provde much interesting data and, hopefully, a few more surprises.
